Pro Late Model Procedures

Qualifying Procedures: Cars will enter the track from the bottom pits in turn 1. First time by the one to go signal will be given and then green, white, checkered. Once you take the green flag that is your only attempt to qualify. If you do not qualify in your proper position, you will only receive only one qualifying lap.

Race Procedure: (100 green flag only)

Initial Start and Restarts: Initial start will take place at the line in turn 4. On restarts the leader may fire anytime he/she is inside the box between turn 3 and turn 4. There will be no passing to the left until you get to the finish line. Re-starts will be single file!   Last 10 laps of the race all lapped cars will go to the rear of lead lap cars.  If we do not complete a green lap, there will be a complete restart with cars that pit go to the rear.

Yellow Flag: No racing back to the caution. We will revert back to the last completed green flag lap for the restart line-up. Once the white flag has been displayed and a caution situation rises, we will be racing back to the checkered flag. The yellow light and yellow flag will be displayed along with the green light and white flag to let teams know there is a situation on the track, but the next lap will be the finish of the race at the checkered flag. (If the track is blocked and a red comes out then it will be a green, white, and checkered.) You cannot lose a lap under caution.

Cars Involved in the Caution: Cars directly involved in bringing out the caution will go to the tail end of the field. Cars that spin or stop but not directly involved may get their spots back unless they go down pit road.

Red Flag: All cars must stop as quickly and safely as possible when the red flag is displayed. Driver may go to pit road during the red flag but will re-start at the tail end of the field. No crew member allowed on the track.

Pitting Procedures: Pace car will collect the field in turn 2, pits are closed. Follow the pace car to the finish line (Flag Stand). Cars wanting to pit can double up first time by, cars that are not pitting must stay high and give room to cars that are pitting. If you pit out of order or enter the pits when closed, restart at the tail end of the field. The pace car will designate the pit road speed for cars on pit road, both entering and exiting the pits. Cars may not pass the pace car unless directed to do so by Race Control.  All pitting will be done in the bottom pits.  If you exit the track and go to the pits up top or on the back stretch you will be through for the remainder of the event.

Lucky Dog: The 1st car behind the leader 1 lap down will be deemed to be the lucky dog as long as he /she is not the cause of the yellow. The car receiving the lucky dog, when notified will pull out and drop back and re-start at the tail end of the field (instead of passing the pace car). The Scoring Official in the tower will add a lap to the car receiving the lucky dog and the spotter for the car will be notified. The lucky dog will not be given in the last 10 laps of the race.

Penalties: If you stop on the racing surface to purposely cause a caution, you will receive a one lap penalty. 3 unassisted spins and you will be disqualified for the remainder of the event. Lapped cars that create problems for lead lap cars may be penalized and should let the leaders go by on the outside and then resume racing. You may not spin the leader or a lead lap car on the last lap of the race (the last lap is treated just like any other lap) so race control may place the offender to the tail of the lead lap cars in the final race results.  No weaving when race officials are out on the track.  1st incident you will be dropped down and warned and restart at the tail end of the field.  2nd incident and you will be parked.

Spotters: Spotters must be in designated spotter stand during the race. Spotters must have the ability to listen to Race Control. Racing Frequency is 461.2000.

Post Race: Top 3 finishers must go to the front-stretch immediately after the completion of the race.
