2008 Tire Rule
Absolutely no soaking, treating, softening, or
modifying of tires for any class will be allowed. This rule is
in effect for all events at the speedway, including but not limited
to practice, race, qualifying, track rental, and is in force even
when South Alabama Speedway isn't the sanctioning body. (i.e.
Georgia Asphalt Series or others).
Absolutely no products or chemicals intended for
the use of treating tires will be allowed on the property of South
Alabama Speedway. Minimum $100 fine and confiscation of
product. All vehicles entering the pits are subject to search for
these products.
Any tires that are found before an event to be
treated will result in confiscation of tires and $200 fine for first
offence, confiscation of tires and $300 for second offence, and on the third offence will
result in confiscation of tires and suspension of car and driver for remainder of the year
and $500 fine before being allowed to compete the next year.
All confiscated tires will be disposed of by track. Failure to
relinquish tires will result in additional $300 fine and 2 race
suspension.
Any tires that are found after an event to be
treated will result in confiscation of tires, loss of all points,
money, disqualification from all events for that night and $200 fine
for first offence, confiscation of tires, loss of all points, money,
disqualification from all events for that night and $300 fine for second offence, and on the third offence
will result in confiscation of tires, loss of all points,
money, disqualification from all events for that night, suspension of car and driver for remainder of the
year and $500 fine before being allowed to compete the next year.
Failure to relinquish tires will result in additional $300 fine and
2 race suspension.
Confiscated tires become the property of South
Alabama Speedway and will be destroyed immediately.
Tires will not be checked by request but will
done entirely at the discretion of the track officials.
All decisions by track officials regarding
these rules are final and not subject to appeal.
Goodyear Statement NEVER attempt to chemically treat or
alter the tire carcass and/or tread compound of any Goodyear
Racing Tire; such as tire "soaking" or use of tread "softener".
This practice could result in premature or catastrophic tire
failure with resulting serious injury or death.
